Budgeting Ideas and Information:

  • Add up all ‘incoming money’ for that month such as benefits and wages
  • Then add up all your ‘Outgoing Money’ important bills or direct debits which needs paying that month: Rent, council tax, Gas & Electric, Water, TV Licence, Loans, mobile phones etc.
  • Take your outgoing total away from your incoming total. The amount left must last you for the month until your next payment
  • Be creative and ‘shop smart’ for your essentials, food, nappies. Shop around for the cheapest prices and offers – be in control, think of ways to make your money last; you never know you might even save!
  • Please do not suffer in silence, there are food banks in your area. If you are unsure which one is local to you speak to your mentor. Remember food banks are there to support people
